Al Marneef Cafe and Blow Holes

May 28, 2012 · Pete Shergold

At the end of Mughsayl beach, there is a lovely cafe which sits in to the rocks with a stunning view looking north along the bay. The cafe itself is pretty basic, selling only a few sandwiches and hot and cold drinks, but the view makes it worth while to stop and have a cup of tea here.

The Mughsayl / Al Marneef blow holes are situated up some steps next to the cafe. The blow holes are good fun when the tide is up and there are some good waves coming in. Omani children are usually standing on them getting soaked by the water as it spurts up, very funny! The wooden platforms are well built and make it a very accessible tourist area and well maintained. The view of the cliff line is very much like the cornish coastline of England, just beautiful.
